My Life As Of Now

Welcome to my third and most boring blog post ever. Get ready to snore... Lately everyone has been asking me things like, "Wait, what? You work where now? I thought you were going back to school? Whadda ya mean Tahni?" I am a confusing person. I confuse myself! Sometimes I'm shy, sometimes I'm loud. I can be sarcastic or extremely polite, conformative or radical... yadda yadda. Most of the time I'm somewhere in between. Anyway, what I was getting at is I decided that this blog post will be about my life as of now, knawmean?

First topic: School. Well everyone... I have graduated highschool! Yes sirs and ma'ams, I have officially ended my free, public education career. As some of you know, I attended an actual highschool for the first year and a half of my highschool education. That's right about where I decided normal highschool just wasn't for me (although you could have guessed that yourself with one look at my attendence record). So i went on the Home and Hospital independent study program through Prospect Education Center. After a semester there I debated going back to my normal highschool or graduating early. Seeing as I am a confusing person and I confuse myself, I couldn't make up my mind... but eventually things worked out and now I've graduated early! I am pretty proud of myself, because there have been lots of speedbumps along the way but I made it. I have to give alot of thanks to the staff of Prospect Education Center and especially to Sheri Schaper, who has been my only teacher for my last 2 years of highschool. I will be graduating with my original 2010 class on stage at the end of the school year and I still get to attend all of the senior activities.

Second topic: College/work. I'm unsure if I will actually be attending any college classes for the 2010 spring semester at PC. I'm still figuring that all out... I'm working alot so I don't know if there will even be time for that. But online classes are definately in the works for me. It looks like I will be working for the next few months and I will start attending a community college for the 2010 fall semester (not necessarily at PC). You see, I am COMPLETELY on my own when it comes to paying for college. So my plan is as follows; work and save money for about a year, go to community college for my general ed (the first 2 years), then transfer to a university. What I am hoping is with the money I've saved up plus grants, and scholarships (and maybe, but hopefully not, loans), I will break even in the cash department by the time my college education has ended. Going to a community college will definately help me out in terms of saving money.

Until college, it's all about work, work, work! "Hmm, but Tahni, where do you work?" you ask. Well, dear blog reader, I have two jobs. (Something else I am proud of, thank you very much.) I am currently working at Target and at Hoagies Heroes, which leaves me pretty much no time for anything else... but honestly, I really don't mind, it's all apart of my plan (see above paragraph). Plus, I'm extremely grateful to have two jobs since alot of people are unable to find a job right now with the bad economy. On top of all of that, I really do love both of my jobs. "Well what have you been doing with all of that money, Tahni?" you ask. Well, dear blog reader, SAVING it of course! Other than Christmas presents, I've been saving everything. Yep, monay in da bank.

Speaking of Hoagies Heroes... for those of you who have not heard, Hoagies Heroes will be moving from it's current location on Olive to a new location on Main St.! It will be located in the new Centennial bulding across from City Hall, a lovely little building if I may say so. Everything will be new and improved! (except the same great sandwiches you know and love, they will still be the same.) New equiptment, new style, even new uniforms! Did I happen to mention the flatscreen t.v. and wi-fi? I recieved my new uniform today-but! ...they are top secret. So I'll make a deal with you, faithful reader. I will post some sneak-peek pictures of the new uniforms a day or two before their debut. But you must keep checking back here to see the exclusive new uniforms! Along with new equiptment and uniforms, we will also be opening earlier and we'll now have a variety of Seattle's Best coffees, including espresso, and we are going to have tastey little pastries as well. I do not like coffee but I will make an exception every once in a while for a cup of Seattle's Best, so I am excited about this new coffee venture Hoagies has taken. We will be opening towards the end of next week... the date is not set in stone yet but I will post it here when it is and I expect to see all of you at the grand opening!
